Exploring
The Qur’an Published by Al-Maktoum Institute Academic Press, UK
Exploring
the Qur’an is a journey into the unfathomable depths of the Qur’an. It
investigates the multifaceted Qur’anic discourse and provides an in-depth
account of multifarious Qur’anic topics some of which have never been tackled
by traditional or modern scholars. Exploring the Qur’an opens new horizons for
both Muslim and non- Muslim readers. It attempts to provide an insight into the
intricate nature of the Qur’an’s theological and linguistic facets through
an interesting contrastive analysis of both Muslim and non-Muslim views. 'Will they
not, then, try to understand this Qur’an? Had it issued from any but Allah,
they would surely have found in it many an inner contradiction!

Umar's
Assurance of Safety (Aman) to the People of Aelia (Islamicjerusalem): The arrival of Umar Ibn al-Khattab during the early summer of year 16 AH/ 637 CE in Aelia marked the beginning of a new and distinguished era in the relations between followers of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The foundations for future relations between the three faiths were laid down during that historical visit in the form of what is known in history as AI-Uhda al-Umariyya or Umar's Assurance Aman of Safety to the people of Aelia. This
book is a critical, analytical study of the assurance Aman that Umar Ibn
al-Khattab gave to the people of Aelia. It aims to examine and compare most of
the available versions of Umar's Assurance, hoping to identify the version which
could be argued to be the most authentic as Umar’s original text. It focuses
on the longest and most famous ones, namely the text given by al-Tabari and that
published by the Orthodox Patriarchate in Professor

The
First Islamic Conquest of Aelia (Islamic Jerusalem) Published by Al-Maktoum Institute Academic Press, UK
This
book is an attempt to find concrete explanations for the inaccuracies and
contradictions in the early Islamic narratives and sources with regard to the
first conquest of Aelia (Islamic Jerusalem). It examines the historical evidence
of the first Islamic conquest of Aelia by critically analysing the early
historical narratives and sources as well as examining the historical background
of some important narrators who related these accounts.
"O Children of Adam ! wear your beautiful apparel at every time and place of prayer: eat and drink: but waste not by excess, for Allah loveth not the wasters. {TMQ 7:31} "It is not their meat Nor their blood, that reaches Allah: it is your piety That reaches Him: He Has thus made them subject To you, that ye may glorify Allah for His guidance to you: And proclaim the good news to all who do right." {TMQ 22:37)
Rejoice and remember the Takbeer: Shaykh ul-lslaam Ibn Taymiyyah (RA) said: “All praise be to Allah. The most correct saying concerning the takbeer - that which the majority of the Salaf (Pious Predecessors), and the Scholars from the Companions and Imaams were upon - is to begin making the takbeer from Fajr (dawn) on the day of ‘Arafah, up until the last day of at-Tashreeq (the thirteenth of Dhul-Hijjah), after every Prayer.” (Majmoo‘ Fataawaa, 24/220). However according to some scholars one should not restrict the takbeers to being just after every Prayer, as al-Haafidh Ibn Hajr pointed out in Fathul-Baaree (21/587). |
